Computer Hardware Components Guide |
In order to get a more effective understanding of how your personal
computers works, you need to make sure you know what computer hardware
components it consists of. Computer
hardware and software are things that enable your PC to
perform the
tasks you assign to it, and while the mechanics behind the software
(programs) is less clear for those of us who aren't qualified
programmers, computer hardware
- the things
you can touch and hold - is at least easier to think about.
So, let us start with the easiest part - reminding of the computer
hardware components whose function can be understood by
anyone. A
keyboard is, predictably, a board with keys all over it; the keys are
'buttons' that you press to give commands to your PC. The
mouse is
another of the computer hardware components that are used to give a
number of commands like opening and closing windows, go from one part
of the document to another etc. You move the mouse to move the cursor
on the screen and click its buttons to produce a task.
Computer
hardware monitors
are probably more complicated, but we all know their prime function of
such computer hardware components is to show us what goes on inside the
computer and enable us to influence it. It would be impossible to work
on a computer without a monitor. The most complicated of the computer
hardware components, though, is the system unit as it, being a
peripheral device, contains many separate computer hardware components
within itself. The hard disk, the motherboard, the disk drives, all the
little parts that are always working and that you never think about, it
is all there. And if we are talking of laptop computer
hardware,
all these things are stored inside a small flat box instead of that big
container on your desktop. Fascinating, isn't it?
